Alkoç’s 43 best friends
Alkoç Group's new office is home to 43 animals.
Alkoç Group and Naci Alkoç Maritime Foundation, which are prominent companies in the maritime sector in terms of social responsibility and aid, also participated in the “Be a Port for an Animal” campaign.
The group, which recently donated containers and food to ITU‘s “Ver Bi’ Pati Club“, this time came to the fore with the best friends it opened its office with.
Alkoç Group Board of Directors Chairman Chief Eng. Gürhan Burak Alkoç said that they were looking for a large area for the companies’ new management center, especially for animal friends, and they chose a 1.2-acre area for this.
Call to the sector
Stating that 12 friends with paws, two cats, 25 chickens and a rooster, and four rabbits currently live in their offices, Alkoç said, “Many maritime offices are located in villas or detached buildings. We call on them to adopt at least one, and more if they can,” he said.
Stating that they are working on what more can be done regarding animal rights, one of the hot topics on Turkey’s agenda, Alkoç said that they are also working on an animal shelter.
